One Orizon account gives you access to RECON and the other Orizon services. This guide takes you from sign-up to your first RECON session, following Luca Ferrante, IT manager at Meccanica Adda.

Goal

Create your Orizon account, add a passkey so you can sign in without a password, and open RECON for the first time.

Prerequisites

  • A business email address. Personal and disposable addresses cannot create or join a company workspace.
  • Your company's VAT number or name, so its details can be looked up.
  • Access to your mailbox to receive the verification code.
  • For the passkey: a browser that supports passkeys and a device with a fingerprint reader, face recognition or a security key.

Steps

  1. Open the sign-up page

Open the Orizon SSO sign-up page. You can choose Continue with Google, Continue with Microsoft, or fill in the form with your business email. This guide follows the email route, which covers every step.

  2. Enter your personal details

Fill in First Name, Last Name and Business Email. Orizon checks the email domain straight away and tells you what will happen:

    • You will create a new company workspace: no company exists yet for your domain, so you become the Owner and can invite teammates;
    • You will join an existing company: you are added as a Member, and the Owner or an Admin can promote you later;
    • Personal email — not a company address: you cannot continue; use your work address instead.
  3. Look up your company

On the same screen, choose how to look up your company. VAT Number gives the most accurate match: type the number, select the country and click Continue.

  4. Confirm the company details

Orizon suggests the company it found, with legal name, address, industry and employee count. Check the card and click Use Selected Company. If it is not your company, choose Enter Manually. When the details are right, click Continue.

  5. Verify your email

You receive a 6-digit code by email, valid for 10 minutes. Type it into the boxes and click Verify Email. If it does not arrive, click Didn't receive the code? Resend.

  6. Set your password and create the account

Choose a password with at least 8 characters, at least one number and at least one special character, then repeat it in Confirm Password. Accept the Terms of Service, acknowledge the Privacy Policy and click Create Account. Marketing emails are optional.

  7. Add a passkey

Once the account is created you are already signed in and see your Orizon profile. Scroll to Biometric Authentication and click Add Your First Device. Enter a Device Name, for example "Luca's laptop", click Add Device and confirm with your fingerprint, face or security key.

  8. Open RECON and authorize it

Open RECON. If you have no active session, RECON sends you to Orizon SSO (Continue to Orizon SSO button). The first time, the Authorize application screen appears: check that the name is RECON's, read the permissions under This will allow the application to: and click Authorize. Click Cancel if you do not want to grant access.

When you authorize it, RECON asks for these permissions:

Permission shownWhat it allows
Sign in with your Orizon accountUsing your Orizon account to sign in
Read your email addressKnowing your email address
Read your profileReading your name and profile details
Company membershipKnowing which company you belong to
Read company membersSeeing your colleagues (flagged as a sensitive permission)

Result

Your account is active, the passkey is saved and RECON opens. If you created the workspace, you are its Owner. Your consent is remembered: Orizon SSO asks again only if RECON requests a new permission or if you disconnected the application.

Troubleshooting

  • Personal email — not a company address: sign up with your company email address.
  • Email address not allowed: disposable or temporary addresses are not accepted.
  • An account with this email already exists: you already have an account, so sign in instead.
  • Company not found. Please enter manually.: fill in the company details yourself.
  • The code does not arrive or has expired: click Didn't receive the code? Resend.
  • Passkeys Not Supported: your browser or device cannot use passkeys; switch to a recent browser such as Chrome, Safari or Edge.
