The NIS 2 tab brings together, in one place, the classification, criteria and obligations of the NIS 2 directive for the company linked to the scan. It helps you find your bearings; it does not replace your company's own legal assessment.

Summary

In this lesson you open the NIS 2 tab of the meccanicaadda.it scan and read, in order, the most likely classification, the sector, the penalty estimate, the Compliance Criteria, the Analysis and the Attack Surface Priority.

Chapters

Key points

  • Classification: in the middle you see the classification marked Most likely: Essential Entity, Important Entity or Not Applicable. Meccanica Adda comes out as an Important Entity.
  • Sector: RECON shows the company's NACE code and its description. For Meccanica Adda it is 28.15, manufacture of gears and driving elements: a manufacturing sector listed in Annex II of the directive.
  • Financial Impact: the estimated maximum penalty for that classification. For an important entity RECON uses EUR 7 million or 1.4% of turnover, whichever is higher; for an essential entity EUR 10 million or 2%.
  • Compliance Criteria compares four data points: EU Operations (the country), Size Threshold (met from 50 employees), the sector (Critical Sector or Important Sector) and Revenue Threshold (met from EUR 10 million). For Meccanica Adda that is 480 employees and EUR 118 million: with complete data, the assessment can be interpreted.
  • Company size does not depend on headcount alone: financial data, linked enterprises and legal exceptions also count. Check these points with whoever handles compliance.
  • Analysis explains in plain text why the company got that classification; Key Evidence lists the facts that support it.
  • Attack Surface Priority tells you how urgent it is to work on your external exposure. For Meccanica Adda it is High: Enhanced monitoring recommended. Next to it you also find Supply Chain Impact.
